Fresno student in critical condition after being hit by car
An Ahwahnee Middle School eighth-grader was in critical condition after being hit by a car early Tuesday.
Fresno police Lt. Mark Hudson said a driver was eastbound on Bullard and Bond avenues at about 7:40 a.m. when the 14-year-old ran into the road and was struck.
The driver was at the scene when officers arrived and was cooperating with the investigation, Hudson said.
The boy was on his way to the middle school at the time of the accident, said Amy Idsvoog, a spokeswoman for Fresno Unified School District.
Idsvoog said the district has been in touch with the family and hopes to have an update as the day continues.
