Bullard High School’s Class of 1972 will hold its 45th class reunion 5:30 to 11 p.m. Sept. 30 at San Joaquin Country Club, 3484 W. Bluff Ave. Tickets cost $60, and the deadline to purchase them is Sept. 10.

North Avenue Community reunion
North Avenue Community will hold a reunion Sept. 22-24. Activities include a meet-and-greet 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 22 at Yosemite Falls, 4348 W. Ashlan Ave.; dinner, dancing and program at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at Pardini’s, 2257 W. Shaw Ave.; and a worship service 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 24 at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, 1111 E. Donations for Alzheimer’s walk
Cedarbrook Memory Care Community will hold an old-fashioned lemonade stand Sept. 2 and Sept. 9 near the corner of Cedar and Nees avenues to raise funds for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event being held Sept. 16 at Fresno State.

Military information night
Congressman David G. Valadao will host a U.S. Military Service information night 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Hanford West High School, 1150 W. Lacey Blvd. The event is recommended for high school and middle school students to learn more about obtaining a congressional nomination to one of the nation’s military service academies.

Madera student honored by FFA
Madera South alumnus Mark Cavallero is one of 16 students selected as a finalist for the National Future Farmers of America 2017 America Star Awards. He is the first person from Madera Unified to be chosen as an American Star Farmer finalist.
Belly dancing for a cause
A fall hafla will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 17 at Full Circle Brewing Company, 620 F St. The event is a fundraiser for the Animal Compassion Team, a no-kill shelter. Admission is free but donations will be accepted including cash, laundry detergent, bleach, cat and dog food, towels and paper towels, blankets, garbage bags and more. Hafla is the Arabic word for “dance party” and will include belly dance performances.

Wine tasting for a cause
The Saint Agnes Men’s Club will host Steins and Vines 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at D&D Ranch, 38384 Avenue 12 in Madera. The event features wine, hand-crafted beer and gourmet food. Tickets cost $75 and proceeds will benefit the hospital’s patient care programs and services.
