Pedestrian on a Fresno highway killed early Saturday
A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed on the Highway 99/180 interchange early Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported just before 1 a.m. CHP spokesman Justin Foraker said it’s not yet known who the person is, but early reports were of a white male adult. Further details were expected to be released later Saturday, Foraker said.
Witness reports to the CHP said the person may have been lying on the transition ramp from westbound Highway 180 to northbound Highway 99. Traffic backed up for a bit and CHP reported having trouble keeping cars from driving through closures during the investigation.
