Fresno man killed in Tulare collision after losing control of his car

A Fresno man was killed after he lost control of his vehicle, over-corrected and crashed into a Ford F-350 truck pulling a trailer in Tulare, police said Thursday.

The collision happened around 8 p.m. Sunday on West Cross Avenue and West Tulare Avenue.

Police said Venico Ramus Becerril, 40, was westbound in a 2013 Hyundai Tiburon on West Tulare Avenue approaching West Cross Avenue when he lost control and slid into the eastbound lane where Aiver Delatorre, 38, of Tulare was driving his pickup. Delatorre was unable to avoid the collision, police said.

Becerril, who was unresponsive, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

This is the sixth fatal traffic collision for 2017 in Tulare.
