Friant woman killed in a hit-and-run crash. No arrests made

A 49-year-old woman was identified as the person whose body was found Sunday along Millerton Road following a hit-and-run crash, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office reports.

The body of Vanney Santos of Friant was found about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, the California Highway Patrol reported. She is believed to have been struck by a vehicle traveling westbound while she was walking across Millerton Road at Winchell Cove Road.

The vehicle struck Santos and continued westbound, according to the CHP report.

She died at the scene. No arrests have been made.
