Boy drowns in a central Fresno apartment complex pool

A child drowned Tuesday in an central Fresno apartment complex pool, Fresno police Lt. Carl McKnight said.

Police responded about 6:15 p.m. to an apartment complex at 4065 N. Fruit Ave near Ashlan Avenue where they found a boy age 2 to 3 years who drowned.

First aid was performed and the boy died at the hospital, McKnight said.

The incident is under investigation.
