Fresno police car involved in accident; two taken to hospital
A Fresno police squad car en route to a call was in an accident with a pick-up truck and two people were taken to the hospital with injuries Monday night.
About 8:20 p.m. officers were responding to a possible armed suspect when their vehicle and a Ford F-150 collided at the intersection of Shaw Avenue and Fresno Street in northeast Fresno, said Lt. Steve Card of the Fresno Police Department.
There were two passengers in each vehicle. One male officer and a woman who was a passenger in the truck were taken to the hospital after complaining of pain, Card said.
Both vehicles were totaled and it was unclear who was at fault. The accident is under investigation.
Drugs or alcohol are not suspected, Card said.
