One dead in car crash Friday afternoon south of Kerman

One person is dead and a second injured Friday afternoon when a car slammed into an almond tree southeast of Kerman, the California Highway Patrol reports.

The crash occurred about 5 p.m. on West North Avenue, just west of Bishop Avenue.

The fatal victim was pinned in and a woman was out of the vehicle and reportedly disoriented, the CHP website said. The coroner was called to the scene.

The identities of those involved were not immediately available.
