Memorial Day adoption special
Central California SPCA is holding a Memorial Day adoption promotion 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Monday at 103 S. Hughes Ave. and all off-site adoption locations. The fee is $100 for all dogs and puppies and $50 for all cats and kittens. The fee includes spay/neuter, vaccines, de-worming, microchips, a dog license, flea treatment and a complimentary exam by a participating veterinarian. Details: 559-233-7722, www.ccspca.com.
Oakhurst Democrats to meet
The Oakhurst Democratic Club will meet at 8:30 a.m. June 3 at Denny’s, 40650 Highway 41 in Oakhurst. Tim Z. Hernandez, author of “All They Will Call You,” is this month’s speaker. Admission is free. Details: 559-641-6617.
Run for Meals benefits Poverello House
The fifth annual Run for Meals 5K run and two-mile walk will begin at 7:15 a.m. June 3 at Woodward Park, 7775 N. Friant Road. All proceeds benefit Poverello House which provides over 1,600 meals a day. Registration is $35 for adults and $20 for children.
