Get your Slurpee on this weekend
Time to hit up 7-Eleven again.
And bring a cup.
It’s “Slurpee Season.”
The convenience store is offering a cool Slurpee promotion – just in time with central San Joaquin Valley temperatures projected to warm to 90 degrees by Friday.
No, the Slurpees aren’t free.
That’s for another day – July 11, as in 7-11.
But this current promotion will allow customers to bring “their own cup” and fill just about any reasonable container for $1.50 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday or Saturday at participating 7-Eleven stores nationwide.
The Bee confirmed at least a few of the local 7-Elevens will participate.
Of course, you don’t want to get too crazy with your cup of choice – like a few people have tried.
One group filled up a kiddie pool as “their cup.”
A man used a rice cooker.
Though customers are encouraged to get creative, there are some rules.
The “cup” must be a clean, watertight container, fit in the machine’s slot, and have no more than a 10-inch diameter.
Also, only one per customer.
Past customers have gone wild with this promotion, forcing the company to put at least some restrictions in place.
Perhaps an upside-down batting helmet would do the trick?
