David Carr to attend groundbreaking for Bakersfield pediatric specialty care center
Valley Children’s Hospital, with former Fresno State quarterback and retired professional football player David Carr on hand, will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Friday for a new 52,000-square-foot pediatric specialty care center in Bakersfield.
Eagle Oaks Specialty Care Center, 12500 Stockdale Highway, will provide pediatric specialists in areas like cardiology, infectious diseases, gastroenterology and orthopedics closer to families who need care.
This is the hospital’s second outpatient care center in Bakersfield. The other is 34th Street Specialty Care Center at 1215 34th St.
On Wednesday, the hospital announced a $500,000 donation from E.&J. Gallo Winery to support the construction of the Pelandale Specialty Care Center in north Modesto. A groundbreaking is scheduled for May 20.
