Five-year-old boy playing in yard attacked by neighbor’s dog

A 5-year-old boy was severely injured when he was bitten in the arm by a neighbor’s dog on Monday afternoon, police said.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of West Fountain Way, near Crystal Avenue, for a report of a dog attack. The boy was playing outside, and the neighbor’s dog got out and attacked the child’s upper left arm, said police spokesman Lt. Joe Gomez.

The boy was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
