Jose Flores, a former Fresno County sheriff’s captain and a current member of the Clovis City Council, is the new police chief at State Center Community College District, it was announced Wednesday.

Flores’ term began the same day that the appointment was announced by Christine D. Miktarian, associate chancellor of business for the district. He will replace former California Highway Patrol Capt. Dave Paris, who has been serving as the interim chief at the school. Flores has been serving as the interim chief of police in Parlier.

State Center includes Fresno City College, Reedley College, Clovis Community College, Madera Community College Center and Oakhurst Center.
