Big rig crash south of Farmersville kills truck driver
A big rig crash south of Farmersville left one woman dead and nearby residents without power after the truck crashed into a pole Friday morning, said California Highway Patrol.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the Tulare County coroner’s office was called to the incident, officials said.
The accident was reported around 7:40 a.m. near Oakdale Avenue and Farmersville Boulevard. People first on the scene reported power lines on top of the truck.
Many residents in the area called in about power outages, said CHP, and Southern California Edison responded to work on the power lines. Work was expected to last until 8 p.m. and there were road closures in the area.
