Kings County fire station receives grant for rescue equipment

The Burris Park Fire Station south of Kingsburg received nearly $60,000 to purchase rescue equipment and fund improvements, announced the Kings County Fire Department.

The grant was given to the Kings County Fire Department from the Larry L. Hillblom Foundation and was awarded to the fire station near Kingsburg during a ceremony on Nov. 30.

The foundation was established in 1996 after Larry L. Hillblom, who was raised in Kingsburg.

The Kings County Fire Department operates 10 fire stations in unincorporated Kings County and also provides services to Avenal and Corcoran.
