Kaiser Permanente gives $45,000 to help feed Valley families during the holidays

Kaiser Permanente Fresno awarded $45,000 in grants to help local families in the San Joaquin Valley during the holiday season, said Kaiser Permanente spokeswoman Kerri Leedy.

The Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fresno will provide turkey meals to 500 families with its $5,000 grant. The Community Food Bank will be able to feed 1,000 families for a week and the Poverello House will also provide healthy meals with their awards of $10,000 each. The Salvation Army will distribute nearly 1,500 food boxes with its $10,000 grant and the Madera County Food Bank will also be able to feed needy families with its $10,000 grant.

“We recognize the holidays can be a stressful time for some families,” said Kaiser Permanente Fresno Senior Vice President and Area Manager Debbie Hemker. “We are proud to partner with these community based organizations to ensure needy families in our Valley have a nutritious meal to enjoy this holiday season.”
