Fundraiser to benefit Lucas scholarship fund

Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes is partnering with Famous Dave’s restaurant to host a fundraiser next week in honor of Fresno County sheriff’s Sgt. Rod Lucas, who was killed Oct. 31 when he was accidentally shot by a fellow deputy. The fundraiser will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Famous Dave’s is donating 35 percent of Tuesday’s sales to the nonprofit for the “Rod Lucas Memorial Scholarship Trust Fund.” In addition, money will be contributed from door prizes, raffle items, a small live auction and general donations.
