Police: Corcoran minister cited for striking parishioner in face
A Methodist minister was arrested for slapping a member of the congregation, Corcoran police said Monday.
Shortly after noon Sunday, police were called to United Methodist Church and learned the Rev. Tupou Tuoipulotu had been in an argument with one of her church members.
During the argument, the member was struck once on the left side of her face, police said.
The minister admitted the incident and the victim wanted to press charges, police said. Tuoipulotu was arrested, taken to the police department and cited to appear in court in Hanford.
The victim did not request medical attention, police said.
