LNAS commander to speak in Hanford

The commander of Lemoore Naval Air Station will give a speech this week in Hanford about what’s happening at the base.

The public is welcome.

Capt. Monty Ashliman will speak at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Veterans Hall in Hanford, next to the Hanford Civic Auditorium, 410 N. Irwin St.

Seating is available at 6:30 p.m.

Ashliman was invited to address the community by Friends of NAS Lemoore.

Topics will include an overview of the base, its history, mission, data on service members, aircraft, the economic impact on the region, the current expansion project for the arrival of the new F-35C Joint Strike Fighter and other topics.

A question-and-answer period will follow.
