Fresno police to begin zero-tolerance litter enforcement patrol
A litter enforcement program will begin Wednesday as part of the City of Fresno’s effort to clean up local highways, the city announced.
Six Fresno Police Department motorcycle officers will be assigned to the program, patrolling highways 41, 168 and 180 daily between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to enforce littering ordinances, the city said.
Over the next few weeks, the city hopes the zero-tolerance operation will support efforts by CalTrans to clean up trash on the highways.
Fines for violations range from $108 to $380.
