Visalia man killed in crash with tractor-trailer

A 19-year-old Visalia man was killed early Monday when his car crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer truck on Plaza Drive just north of Goshen Avenue, Visalia police said.

The driver, Spencer Baker, was driving a 2003 Nissan Sentra north on Plaza at 5:28 a.m. when the car struck the rear of a northbound truck that was being driven by Jose Lopez, 46, of Visalia.

Baker was pronounced dead at the scene. Lopez was not injured. The crash is under investigation.
