Central Fresno home damaged by closet fire
Neighbors alerted the Fresno Fire Department to a house fire Sunday when the family was not home.
Around 10 p.m., firefighters arrived to the central Fresno home in the 3800 block of East Clay Avenue after neighbors heard the smoke alarms go off, Fire Capt. John Creasy said.
A family of seven that lives at the home was not present when the fire started but arrived a short time later.
Flames were contained to a bedroom, where the fire started in a closet, Creasy said. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
