Fresno County adds more than 100 new COVID-19 infections. Total cases nearing 30,000
The California Department of Public Health on Monday reported Fresno County added an additional 101 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing its total to 27, 769 total infections since the pandemic began.
As of Friday, Fresno County had recorded 355 deaths. The county only updates its death figures related to COVID-19 twice a week.
Statewide, there have been a total of 769,831 infections since the pandemic’s onset, according to the California Department of Public Health.
As of Monday, Tulare County had recorded an additional 88 cases, for a total of 15,687, according to the county’s data. The county has recorded 256 deaths.
Madera County on Monday recorded an additional 95 cases, bringing its total infections up to 4,391, according to the county’s data. The county reported an additional four deaths, for a total of 62 fatalities.
Mariposa County reported no new cases or deaths over the weekend. Its totals remain at 75 confirmed cases, and two deaths, according to the county’s data.
In Merced County, health officials reported an additional 70 cases on Monday, as well as three deaths. Those bring the county’s total to 8,820 confirmed infections, and 137 fatalities, since the first cases in March.
Kings County hadn’t yet updated its numbers, but as of Sunday, it had reported a total of 7,432 infections, including 173 at skilled nursing facilities, and 3,258 at state prison facilities.
