With 9 new deaths, Fresno County hits century mark for coronavirus-related fatalities

Fresno County has reached 100 deaths related to the coronavirus as nine more fatalities were reported Friday.

It was Fresno County’s second update of the week since it no longer updates its count daily, switching to Tuesday and Friday.

On Tuesday, Fresno County reported it was at 91 deaths.

In addition to the deaths, Fresno County added 441 cases Friday, raising the total to 9,565.

At least 149 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the county since Tuesday, bringing the total to 2,332.

Around the Valley

Tulare County reported four deaths Friday from complications related to the coronavirus and its total has reached 165, according to health officials.

The Friday update also reported 203 new cases, which makes the total 6,683.

Madera County reported 43 new cases its total to 1,179. Thirty-three people have recovered to bring that total to 609 recoveries.

Merced County added 90 new cases to bring the total to 2,403. No deaths were reported, keeping the total at 15.

Kings County totaled 37 new cases to bring the figures to 3,209. There were were 21 new recoveries to bring the total to 2,041. No deaths were reported, keeping the total at 41.

Mariposa County reported no new cases or deaths. The county is at 35 cases and one death.
