Hundreds of new coronavirus cases reported in the Central Valley, three more deaths

Fresno County on Thursday reported an additional 161 coronavirus cases, bringing its total number of positive cases up to 4,053, according to the county’s dashboard.

No additional deaths were reported in Fresno County, and the number of patients who have died due to COVID-19 remained at 71.

A total of 342 patients were hospitalized, while 1,104 had recovered, according to the county’s dashboard. There were 2,878 active cases on Thursday in Fresno County.

In Tulare County, a total of 113 new cases were reported Thursday, raising the county’s total number of positive cases to 3,646, according to the county’s update. The county also reported an additional death, bringing the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 up to 119 in Tulare County.

A total of 2,736 patients in Tulare County had recovered as of Thursday, and 985 patients were under self-quarantine and were being monitored by county health officials.

In Kings County, a total of 50 new infections were reported Thursday, and one additional death related to COVID-19, bringing the total number of fatalities to 21, according to the county’s update.

Of the 50 new coronavirus cases in Kings county, two were related to the county’s prisons. The county has reported a total of 1,034 cases, not related to the county’s prisons.

The county’s prisons have found 1,132 cases as of Thursday, and 118 had been found in the county’s skilled nursing facilities, according to the county’s update.

Madera County on Thursday reported 13 new cases, including one hospitalized patient.

A total of 14 other patients have recovered in Madera County, according to the county’s update.

In Merced County, a total of 50 new infections were reported Thursday, bringing the county’s total number of positive cases up to 791, according to the county’s update. The county reported one additional death, pushing the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 up to 11.

A total of 415 cases were active, and 365 patients had recovered, according to the county’s update.

In Mariposa County, one new infection was reported Thursday, bringing the county’s total number of infections up to 22. The county has only reported one death since the outbreak began.
