Tulare County sees relief in new coronavirus case numbers to conclude a rough week
After a week of large increases in coronavirus cases and deaths, Tulare County found some relief in its latest totals reported Sunday.
There were only four new cases, and 12 more people said to have recovered, posted on the website of the Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency.
The county still leads the six-county central San Joaquin Valley with 1,430 positive tests for COVID-19 and 67 deaths. But Sunday’s totals cap a week that included a combined 131 additional cases and 13 deaths on Friday and Saturday.
A total of 416 people in the county have recovered from the illness.
Merced County reported an increase of 16 cases Sunday, Kings County added seven and Madera County one new positive result.
Fresno County was at 1,192 cases with 379 recoveries and 16 deaths as of its last posting Saturday.

▪ Kings County, with 399 total cases, 113 people recovered and two deaths.
▪ Madera County 71 cases, with 53 recovered and two deaths.
▪ Mariposa County, 15 cases, 14 recovered, one death as of its most recent update Friday.
▪ Merced County 216 cases, 127 recovered, six deaths.
