Tulare County adds three coronavirus deaths, 88 new cases; Fresno County up 36 cases

Fresno County has 36 new coronavirus cases and Tulare County three more deaths and 88 additional cases, according to the latest updates posted Saturday by health officials in the six-county central San Joaquin Valley.

Total cases in Fresno County rose to 1,192, with 379 recoveries from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the pandemic. The death toll remained at 16.

At least 154 patients have been hospitalized at some point.

Tulare County’s 88 new cases raised its total to 1,426, according to health officials.

There have been 67 deaths, including 10 reported Friday, and 404 recoveries.

Around the Valley

Here are the reported tallies elsewhere in the region as of late Saturday afternoon:

▪ Kings County, with 20 new cases, increasing the total to 392, with 113 people recovered and two deaths.

▪ Madera County reported no new cases in a Saturday update. Total cases there remain at 70, with 53 recovered and two deaths.

▪ Mariposa County, not updated since Friday, has 15 cases, 14 recovered, one death.

▪ Merced County 200 cases, also as of Friday, 127 recovered, six deaths.
