Coronavirus cases, deaths continue to climb in Tulare County as two more people die

Two more people have died in Tulare County from illness related to the coronavirus.

Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency announced the deaths Tuesday in its daily update online.

The county has averaged two reported deaths per day since Friday. So, far 52 people have died in the South Valley county.

In all, Tulare County has confirmed 1,241 positive cases of coronavirus, with more than 80 new cases added on Tuesday alone.

Another 982 people are in self-quarantine and being monitored by health officials. The number of recovered cases increased by one person on Tuesday, to 172.

Around the region

As of midday Tuesday, there were 2,762 cases across the six-county central San Joaquin Valley region, with 67 deaths. More than 700 people have recovered.

Fresno County, reported 945 positive cases in an update Monday. The county continues to count the majority of the region’s recoveries, with 319. Its death toll remained at nine.

Kings County, added 32 new cases on Monday, bring its total to 319. One person has died and 63 have recovered.

Mariposa County stood at 15 cases total and had yet to see any deaths.

Merced County had a total of 173 cases total and three deaths. Ninety-nine people have recovered.

Madera County confirmed a total of 69 cases on Monday. Two people have died and 40 have recovered.
