Tulare County confirms more than a dozen new cases of coronavirus, no new deaths

Tulare County added more than a dozen new cases of the coronavirus to its total count on Monday.

The county’s health and human services agency added 14 new cases in its daily online update. Countywide, 757 people have now tested positive for the virus since the outbreak started. The number of positive cases has surpassed the number of people who are in self-quarantine and being monitored by the health department.

Nearly 3,000 tests have been administered countywide. One-hundred forty-four people have recovered and 40 people have died, including 26 residents of Redwood Springs Healthcare Center in Visalia.

Fresno County on Monday afternoon reported 672 positive cases from 7,896 tests, with 236 recoveries. Nine people have died.

Also on Monday afternoon, Madera County reported three new positive cases for a total of 54. Two people have died and 30 have recovered.

Elsewhere in the region

Mariposa County added one positive case Monday. It now has 14 confirmed cases total of the 252 tests it has administered.

Merced County added one positive case in an update Monday morning. It sat at 143 cases total and three deaths. Eighty-one people had recovered. One person was re-infected.

Kings County counted 198 total positive cases at midday Monday. One person has died and 28 have recovered.
