California Gov. Gavin Newsom spoke about the coronavirus at press conference on Monday. Watch a recording of the livestream by clicking on the video below:

Newsom’s press conference on Friday coincided with a protest outside the Capitol, where demonstrators demanded that the state’s economy be reopened.

Over the weekend, several local governments announced plans to relax stay-at-home orders in defiance of Newsom.

At least 54,000 Californians have tested positive for the virus, and more than 2,200 have died from it.
