Coronavirus cases see another big daily jump in Tulare County. One more death reported

The surge in coronaviris cases continues across the central San Joaquin Valley.

So far, this week, the six-country region counts 1,390 positive case with increases of more than 80 cases daily.

The trend could continue on Wednesday.

Tulare County Health and Human Services added 48 more positive cases in its daily online update. The county-wide total now stands at more than 600 people, with an only slightly higher number (635) under self-quarantine and monitored by health officials. The county also confirmed another death related to the coronavirus. So far, 36 people have died after being diagnosed with the virus.

At least 24 of those deaths have been related to to the Redwood Springs Healthcare Center in Visalia.

Around the region

Mariposa county remains at one positive case, after reporting the county’s first confirmed case of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

Merced County added two new cases on Wednesday and now has a total of 116 confirmed cases. No new deaths were reported.

Kings County reported 71 positive cases on Wednesday morning. One person has died and 15 have recovered.

Fresno County added 23 new cases on Tuesday afternoon, putting the total number of positive cases in the county was at 521.

Madera County has 45 positive cases as of Tuesday. Two people have died and 27 have recovered.
