Fresno County’s coronavirus count increases by double digits in a day
There are 15 new cases of COVID-19 in Fresno County, according to the latest update provided by the Fresno County Department of Public Health on Saturday.
That brings Fresno County’s total to 458 positive tests for the novel coronavirus.
No new deaths or hospitalizations have been reported, but there were three more patients reported to have recovered, which brings that total to 160.
In all, seven people have died and 90 have been hospitalized by the COVID-19 pandemic in the county.
Dr. Rais Vohra, Fresno County’s interim health officer, has said he expects that Fresno County and the surrounding region likely won’t see a peak in COVID-19 cases until next week or early May.
Much of that is based on what’s happened with faster and earlier rates of spread in more urban parts of California.
