Coronavirus cases in Tulare County continue to climb with 30-plus new cases added in one day
Close to 300 people have now contracted the coronavirus in Tulare County.
In its daily update on Tuesday, the Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency confirmed that 296 people have tested positive for the virus, adding 32 new cases.
No new deaths were reported in the county due to the coronavirus, after the agency reported on Monday that two people died over the weekend. So far, 13 people in Tulare County have died from complications of the coronoavirus. Fifteen people have recovered.
Six of the deaths were related to the an outbreak at the Redwood Springs Healthcare Center. Of those, three of the deaths happened within a 24-hour period.
The nursing facility has contributed to Tulare County having the highest number of cases in the central San Joaquin Valley, despite having less than half the population of Fresno County.

Merced County confirmed an additional five cases of the coronavirus in its update Tuesday morning. This brings the total number of cases in the county to 74. Three people have died. Twenty-three have recovered.
Fresno County updated its coronavirus count to 222 positive cases late Monday afternoon, an increase of 21 from its last update before Easter. More than 30 patients were hospitalized in Fresno County on Monday with COVID-19, the coronavirus, and 14 of them were in intensive care units, county health officials said. Five people in the county have died, and 37 have recovered.
In Madera County, 33 people have tested positive. County health officials are monitoring 65 people.
Kings County reported two new positive cases on Monday, for a total of 12. One person there has died, and three have recovered. County health officials are monitoring 33 people.
