Table Mountain extends coronavirus casino closure to June
Table Mountain Casino will extend its closure until May 31, in an agreement between the Tribal Council and California officials.
The council called the decision to extend the closure a precautionary measure due to recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Employees will be furloughed during the closure, beginning Monday,
but the casino in Friant northeast of Fresno will continue to cover the employee medical benefit premiums.
“The health, safety and welfare of our patrons, employees and tribal membership remains a priority,”casino officials said in a statement.
Two other central San Joaquin Valley casinos — Chukchansi Gold in Coarsegold, Tachi Palace in Lemoore — are closed indefinitely. Eagle Mountain in Porterville and Mono Wind in Auberry say they plan to reopen May 1.
