Tulare County confirms seventh coronavirus-related death. It’s the second death this week

For the second time this week, health officials in Tulare County on Wednesday confirmed a death related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The person died Tuesday, the Tulare County Health and Human Services said.

It marks the seventh death in the county since the outbreak began. The county confirmed three deaths over the weekend. All were over 65 years of age. Three additional deaths occurred between March 28 and April 3.

The death come as testing increases and the number of positive cases in Tulare County continues to grow. There are currently 168 positive cases. A breakdown of cases by city can be found at the agency’s website.

So far, Tulare has seen the largest number of deaths in the central San Joaquin Valley region.

Fresno county announced a third death Tuesday.

There also have been two deaths in Madera County, including the first in the region, and one in Merced County.
