Table Mountain casino announces extended closure as a coronavirus precaution

Table Mountain Casino is extending its temporary closure to April 12 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Originally, Table Mountain said the closure would last until March 31, but the Table Mountain Rancheria Tribal Council and the casino’s board of directors met Friday and agreed to extend the closure until mid-April.

“This temporary closure serves as a precautionary measure to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, and in collaboration with Governor Gavin Newsom and our local government,” Table Mountain said in a news release.

Table Mountain, located in Friant, also said employees will continue to be compensated and will receive benefits during the extension of the temporary closure.

“Our prayers go out to all of the families and nations who have been impacted by this virus,” the statement said. “We continue to stand together and join forces to protect our people.”
