Laid off? These Fresno-area companies are hiring to deal with coronavirus demands
Fresno-area workplaces like restaurants are laying off workers and cutting hours as people shelter in place to avoid spreading coronavirus.
Meanwhile, other companies are ramping up hiring by the thousands, specifically ones that play a role in getting food to the consumer or serving their health needs. That includes grocery stores, delivery services, drugstores — even restaurants like Domino’s Pizza.
They are looking for workers to deal with the increased demand from customers and increased cleaning in stores.
Some are even bumping up their pay by $2 or more, or offering other perks.
