Third coronavirus case in Tulare County; patient in critical condition
A third coronavirus case has been reported in Tulare County.
The patient is in critical condition and in isolation at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia.
The hospital in a new release Monday night said all physicians and employees in contact with the COVID-19 patient are wearing personal protective equipment.
The hospital also said it is working to identify all employees who came in contact with the patient, and will test and treat anyone who displays symptoms.
In addition, Kaweah Delta will implement a temporary no visitor policy at its medical center starting at noon Wednesday.
“Exceptions will be made for active trauma, labor, minors, and end-of-life patients, along with patients in need of critical procedures. Family and loved ones looking for patients can call 559-624-2000 for patient updates.”
The Tulare County Health & Human Agency confirmed the patient’s status in a social media post. The county also has 73 patients in self-quarantine.
While it’s the third case in the county, it’s the second patient to test positive for COVID-19 in Visalia. The first case announced Friday after a patient tested positive after traveling in the Bay Area.
