Los Banos coach, substitute teacher arrested, will be extradited to Missouri

A Los Banos Unified School District coach and substitute teacher was arrested Monday for crimes involving the solicitation of minors for sexual gratification, Los Banos police said.

Matthew Bowman, a 25-year-old Los Banos resident wanted on a felony warrant in Missouri, was arrested without incident, according to a Los Banos Police Department Facebook post.

Bowman was booked at the Los Banos jail and is awaiting extradition to Missouri, the post said.

According to the post, there are no local allegations of any crimes by Bowman.

Police did not reveal for which school Bowman was a coach or where he was a substitute teacher.

According to Transparent California, Bowman made $9,548 working for Los Banos Unified School District in 2024.
