Explore 7,600-acre, Central CA ranch land for sale after 116 years in one family
For more than a century, one family has watched over the sprawling Reynolds Ranch in Central California.
Now, the property passed down for 116 years and stretching across more than 7,600 acres — located just outside King City, between Monterey and San Benito counties — is for sale for nearly $31 million.
The legacy of Reynolds Land and Cattle Co. is as rare as Olive Wagyu.
“There are many great American family ranching stories of successful multi-generational ownership, but too often ranches fall into the ‘build it, save it, spend it, lose it’ category, lasting just two or three generations at most,” listing agent Chris Bailey of California Outdoor Properties said in a statement. “Reynolds Land and Cattle Company is a compelling story spanning 116 years of family ownership, land stewardship, grit and, most importantly, profit.”
The ranch’s vast landscape is a blend of productive farmland and classic rangeland, anchoring the region’s rich agricultural backbone. Natural springs and wells fed by the seasonal San Lorenzo Creek water the 7,000 acres of rolling hills where cattle graze.
Cattle and agricultural leases provide steady income for the property, according to California Outdoor Properties.
A buyer can opt to purchase the entire operation for $30.7 million; the farm only for $22 million; or the ranch exclusively for $8.7 million.
The centerpiece of the property is a 2,300-square-foot ranch house, surrounded by a caretaker’s home, a barn, a four-car garage, sheds and corrals. Tucked about a half-mile from the main compound lies Spring Cottage, a 1,200-square-foot retreat running on its own utilities.
About 750 acres of the property are devoted to crops. The land is currently growing leafy greens, but has the flexibility to offer diverse crop rotations, according to California Outdoor Properties.
