Powerball players just miss $154 million jackpot in California — but still win big
Two California Powerball players narrowly missed the $154 million jackpot but still won big prizes.
The lottery players won $24,134 each during the Feb. 12 drawing, according to the California Lottery.
Both of their tickets matched four out of the five winning numbers and the red Powerball.
No one scored the jackpot, so the prize for the Feb. 15 drawing has grown to an estimated $172 million with a cash prize of $79.7 million, according to the Powerball site.
The winning numbers were 21, 32, 36, 45 and 49, with a Powerball of 18, the lottery said. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
More than 270,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won Saturday, Jan. 18, when an Oregon player hit the $329 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
