The Sacramento Bee’s Latino Change Makers, a project highlighting leaders in the Sacramento region, is back for a third iteration.

This initiative showcases rising stars in the capital region driving meaningful change and demonstrating exceptional leadership.

The Bee’s Equity Lab, in partnership with the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program, honors individuals responsible for innovation. Over the years, this annual collaboration has honored more than 135 individuals in the Black, Latino, and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

Nominated candidates should identify as Latino, Latina, Latinx, Latine, Hispanic, Afro-Latino/a or Indigenous. They must be problem solvers who address critical issues through community organization, education, arts and entertainment, entrepreneurship, law, medicine and health care, science, politics, nonprofit leadership or activism.

Check out our past cohorts of Latino Change Makers from 2022 and 2023.

This year’s nominations will be open until Sunday, Oct. 20. Finalists will be selected by a panel from The Bee, NELP and outside judges.
