Bojangles is bringing its famous chicken and biscuits to the West Coast.

The North Carolina-based chicken chain plans to open 30 stores in Los Angeles County, California, as part of a multi-unit franchise agreement with Poulet Brothers, LLC, according to a company news release.

It’s Bojangles first foray into The Golden State with plans to begin building over the next six years, starting in early 2025.

Entrepreneur and real estate developer Lorenzo Boucetta called the partnership a “no-brainer.”

“The opportunity to grow Bojangles in California presented itself at the perfect moment, and I am thrilled to bring this iconic brand to the market for the first time,” Boucetta said in the release..

Founded in 1977 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Bojangles is best known for its “craveable Southern chicken, biscuits and tea made fresh daily,” according to its website. The restaurant operates more than 800 locations across 17 states.

The chicken chain said “franchising opportunities remain available in prime areas throughout California” but stopped just short of disclosing where.

“Supporting our franchisees is a fundamental pillar of success and growth at Bojangles,” CEO Jose Armario said in the release. “We are ecstatic to bring Bojangles to Los Angeles residents and look forward to opening our first location in California next year, while anticipating the exciting growth that will follow.”

Earlier this month, Bojangles debuted Bo’s Bird Dogs featuring a fried chicken tender nestled in a hot dog-style bun with pickles and Carolina Gold BBQ sauce, The Charlotte Observer reported.

Other menu favorites include the Cajun chicken filet biscuit, two-piece chicken dinner and the Bo Berry biscuit.
