Stolen truck leaves trail of marijuana in wild police chase, California cops say
A stolen truck attempted to evade police as marijuana flew from its cargo in California, police told multiple news outlets.
Police responded to a shots fired call around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, in Los Angeles, police said.
Officers were directed toward a stolen box truck, KTLA reported.
The truck sped off and “large cannabis plants” flew from the vehicle’s cargo, which had been left open, KABC-TV reported.
A video shows sparks flying from the truck as it drives away.
The driver was arrested after a short chase, KNBC reported. The chase stemmed from a reported burglary at a marijuana dispensary, according to the outlet.
The driver’s name has not been released.
