Sips N Clips offers haircuts, sports, beer in Fresno

Sips N Clips, a Fresno barber shop, now offers what the owners call “the trifecta”: sports, haircuts and beer.

“When you get in here, we’re not rushing you,” co-owner Eric Baltierra said. “Our thing is that there’s no wait, but our customers want to wait – so they can grab a drink and watch the game.”

Baltierra said the business, at 1568 E. Champlain Dr. in Suite 101, offers a lounge feel where people are welcome to spend an afternoon and have a good time, in addition to looking fresh and enjoying local craft beer.

The unique barber shop and bar combo is something different, he said, than anything else in not only Fresno, but in California. The business opened in February, but recently acquired its liquor license, which has helped it achieve the right atmosphere, Baltierra said.

Already, he said the business is looking to open a second location.

Although alcohol is served on site, the barber shop is happy to provide haircuts to any age. Baltierra’s goal is to help bring something special to Fresno, and to help build the belief there are innovative, interesting things happening here.
