Voice Shop Music Academy re-brands as Fresno Music Academy & Arts
Voice Shop Music Academy in Fresno is getting a makeover and a name change to become Fresno Music Academy & Arts.
On Sept. 10, the 18-year-old business is hosting a grand re-opening to show off a new legacy theater and upgraded facilities.
“We’re the place for Fresno to come and learn music,” co-owner and managing director John Alden said. “We started taking on guitar teachers, violin teachers, piano teachers. Our service outgrew our name.”
The business has goals of increasing the number of weekly students from about 180 to closer to 300 or 350 by the end of the year now that is has more space.
The Music Academy added the building that used to be Hashtag Fresno, and created ViSTA, the Voice Shop Theater Arts (the “i” comes from the microphone used in the original logo), which was opened in March. The theater has potential to be a venue for plays, concerts, showcases and more, said Alden.
