Suncrest Bank enters the Fresno market

Suncrest Bank has entered the Fresno market, opening its first office in the city last week and appointing a leadership team for the area.

Ciaran McMullan, president and CEO of the Visalia-based banking company, said the office on Tulare Street near the Fulton Mall in downtown Fresno officially opened on March 17.

It is Suncrest’s second office in Fresno County after the bank opened a branch in Kingsburg last summer.

Suncrest named Jennette Williams as president for the Fresno market, and Jeannine Welton is the commercial banking manager in the new office. Suncrest’s government loan manager, Craig Howells, is also part of the Fresno team.

Suncrest, founded in 2008, is the youngest community bank headquartered in the central San Joaquin Valley. It reported about $297 million in assets as of Dec. 31, and a profit of about $909,000 for 2015.

Its stock is traded on the OTCQX over-the-counter board under the stock symbol SBKK. The closing price Tuesday, following the morning announcement of the Fresno office, was $7.50 per share, up 1.35 percent from Monday’s closing.
