Former Bee publisher Keith Moyer to lead Las Vegas Review-Journal newsroom
J. Keith Moyer, a former executive editor and publisher of The Fresno Bee, has been named editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, according to reports from The Poynter Institute.
Moyer, 65, was The Bee’s executive editor and vice president from 1994 to 1997; he was promoted to the newspaper’s president and publisher, a position he held until mid-2001. The McClatchy Company, which owns The Bee, named Moyer as the president and publisher of the Minneapolis Star in 2001 after the company bought the Minnesota newspaper.
Since 2007, Moyer has been a media management consultant and in 2010 became senior fellow with the University of Minnesota’s journalism school, teaching student journalists.
Moyer’s journalism career has spanned nearly 40 years. After graduating from the University of Florida with a journalism degree in 1977, he worked at newspapers in Florida, New York and Arkansas prior to his tenure at The Bee, according to his LinkedIn profile.
