Word on the Street: AT&T opens ‘store of the future’ in Clovis

AT&T customers have a new way to shop in the Fresno/Clovis area with the opening of the company’s new “Store of the Future” at the Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis.

The store is one-of-a-kind in the Clovis area, said assistant store manager Don Hash, delivering the latest designs in mobile devices, home security systems and tech accessories.

The new, larger building is at 1180 Shaw Ave., Suite 101, in Clovis. The old building had been a staple at the mall for 20 years, Hash said, but because of volume and interest in expanding the store’s merchandise, as well as increasing its square-footage, the store moved into the new building. The grand opening Tuesday drew over 60 officials, employees and interested customers.

DirecTV was recently acquired by AT&T, so the store features a DirecTV home entertainment section, a new lifestyle section for home appliances and security, and a music section where customers can compare the latest in Bluetooth and speaker technology.

Two products highlighted in the store are the Sengled Pulse Solo LED light with wireless JBL speaker, and a ZTE Spro 2 Smart Projector.

The Sengled Pulse Solo LED light can be installed indoors or outdoors in any light bulb socket and functions as a high-quality wireless music speaker. (Hash said he used the light bulb during Halloween to play music from his phone for trick-or-treaters outside.)

The ZTE Spro 2 Smart Projector is a phone-sized projector that’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

As part of its opening, AT&T also donated $25,000 to the Marjaree Mason Center.
