Gasoline prices in Fresno fall over past week

Gasoline prices remain volatile but fell over the past week to an average of $2.59 per gallon in Fresno on Sunday for regular unleaded fuel, according to a survey of 364 gas stations in the Fresno area by GasBuddy.com.

The weekly survey reflected a 4.4-cent drop in the price of gasoline in Fresno since last week. But prices were about 7.6 cents higher than a year ago and 2.7 cents more than last month. Across California, Sunday’s average unleaded price of $2.77 was down from $2.86 a week ago.

Resourceful motorists in the area, however, can find gas for far less than the Fresno average. The GasBuddy mobile app, in which drivers report prices they see at local stations, showed several locations with gas prices as low as $2.10 per gallon on Monday.
